About Us

Situated on the edge of Dalchreichart, a small settlement in Glenmoriston, Faebuie Cottages gives you a sense of remoteness without feeling isolated.

Dalchreichart is an ideal base from which to explore the central highlands of Scotland being around an hour's drive from Inverness airport. Being just a mile off the main road to Skye allows easy day trips to most places of interest in the region including Loch Ness, Fort Augustus, Skye, Fort William, Ben Nevis, Inverness and the Black Isle.

Whilst we can't promise wall to wall sunshine we can say that whatever time of year you visit the scenery around us is truly beautiful.

There is plenty of walking and cycling to be had locally plus Glen Shiel within 30 minutes and the Nevis range less than an hour’s drive away. In addition to the high places there is also walking direct from the door and close at hand in Glenmoriston and the Great Glen including the Great Glen Way and various other low level routes.

The rivers and lochs near by offer a wealth of fishing opportunities and there is abundant wildlife all around us. It is not uncommon to see buzzard, red deer, badgers, even pine martins. At the right time of the year we have seen Ospreys and there have been sightings of white tailed sea eagles and otters at Glenelg, about 40 minutes from us.

Keep in mind that whilst the roads will seem winding to some they are largely empty, at least compared to most of the UK. Many offer fantastic views and have numerous places to stop.
